In the comments of my last post, We only waterboard Muslims w/Gratuitous Nudity, it was suggested that Jesse Ventura's status as a SEAL and Vietnam Vet would keep the chicken hawks at bay on the torture issue. I responded that at that very moment I was watching Morning Joe on MSNBC and the Scarborough was going off on Ventura, calling him stupid. Scarborough insisted that when the information on waterboarding and torture is declassified it will show that torture works.
Here is that clip. It will blow you away how obtuse Joe Scarborough and Rudy Guiliani are. Watch to the end and you will get to see Scarborough insist vehemently that waterboarding works:
This guy is on TV every day...
(I'll update later with some gratuitous nudity. Too busy right now catching up on Digg)

"Joe!"
(it should be a crime to be that dumb and on t.v....he's right about that maybe...)
I couldn't watch more than a few seconds of that blowhard. I saw a clip a while ago (Glenn Greenwald probably linked to it) of him saying that "rational fear" justified torture...he was an idiot then, he's looking like an even bigger idiot now, and I'm frankly surprised the MSNBC studio has enough room for his bloated ego.
What an upside down world we live in. Another thing bothering me about this guy is despite everybody knowing the CIA lies out of its metaphorical ass, he is busy spreading the meme that acknowledging this is unpatriotic and treasonous. Just like speaking against the Iraq war was unpatriotic and treasonous.
How the hell can he claim he knows that waterboarding is effective when all the experts say that it's not? I'll have to pay close attention tomorrow to see what kind of flack he gets from this one.
And what is it with MSNBC in the wee hours? Do they HAVE to have a racist or a facist on at that time?
These are the same people that like to argue slippery slopes when it comes to gay marriage but they can't grasp that argument in relation to torture? Puh-lease!
If you want the views of a good lawyer, if that is not an oxymoron, read Gareth Peirce in the current issue of London Review of Books.

It's also on Digg.
Rated, of course.
In THIS country (the United States of America) people are supposed to be INNOCENT until PROVEN GUILTY. Torturing terror "suspects" doesn't promote that. These guys never had trials, never had juries, were never convicted of crimes of terror BEFORE they were tortured.
Sorry, asshat. YOU are the one who should not speak of things that you obviously know nothing about.
I find it ironic that the freedom of speech in this country permits assholes like Joe (and Elizabeth Hasselback) to publicly promote their skewed views on national television.
Thumbed.
Geez. Did I say he's an asshat?
But you what really is torturous, the last shot of the guy sans bush. But I understand, you are an equal-opportunity teaser. lol
Hot pokers! Rated.
